THE SHELL Restaurant is a new modern mediterranean seafood
restaurant on the Upper West Side. Longtime friends and founders. Val Crovetto & Rangu Miah have worked in the restaurant & bar industry for years developing a passion for seafood when they decided to embark on a new adventure opening their own mediterranean seafood restaurant on the vibrant Upper West Side.
Their love for seafood and the desire to bring something fresh and exciting to the neighborhood inspired them to create a menu that is both delicious and sustainable. They're excited to share their passions with you and create unforgettable memories that will keep you coming back for more!
- As Owner/Partner Rangu's extensive bar experience started in the best restaurants and hotels in Miami's 90's scene. As a New Yorker, Rangu has assisted in opening many prestigious restaurants and owning his own restaurant in Long Island for more than 10 years. His compromise with the Upper West Side is just to provide the best quality of food and service.

As Partner and Director of Operations, Val Crovetto's approach to THE SHELL is to provide every client with an exceptional dining experience. Val's culinary and management knowledge began training at one of Greenwich Connecticut's prestigious riverfront restaurant, L'escale. It was during this time that Val quickly learned the importance of attention to detail and of treating every guest as a VIP.helped him garner many honors during his time at the many accolade restaurants he has opened since 1998 in many cities and states, including the coveted James Beard Foundation award for Best Restaurant Service.
Val continued to set exceptional standards of service, has made countless relationships with loyal returning customers and sets an impeccable standard for all his staff at THE SHELL.
